The Spaniard will play Tommy Paul (USA) on Sunday (25 January) at Rod Laver Arena for a spot in the quarter-finals.

In the women’s draw, world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka will face Canadian teenager Victoria Mboko in their first-ever clash.
